This is a cafe-cum-pub right smack in the middle of Jonker Street.
It is supposed to be rather famous. A popular HK movie (夏日嬷嬷茶, Summer Holidays) filmed one of the scenes in this cafe-pub.
It's a good place to have a new relaxing (albeit expensive) drink and people watch.
Be a little careful if you are strongly adversed to vegetarian food though. We had our breakfast at this cafe before we left Malacca, only to find out this cafe serves only vegetarian food. The Brother was very put off because he is very much carnivorous.
It's a nice place for a glass of chilled beer. Or maybe two.
This drink is named after the movie - 夏日嬷嬷茶, Summer Holidays
These 2 seats on the second level has the best view of
the night market on Jonker Street
My breakfast - Vegetarian Nasi Lemak. Healthy and pretty nice too!
Vegetarian "Bak-kut-teh", called "Su-kut-teh"
The fried omelette is the best choice for those who
really dislike vegetarian food
Wow. Sounds like Brother isn't very open-minded, huh? I have a suggestion for the next time Brother suggests a place for everyone to eat. Simply reply, "Oh. No thanks. They serve animal flesh there."
ReplyDeleteI cannot fathom someone not being able to accommodate a vegetarian restaurant choice on occasion.
I think that the hormones and growth steroids in the meat are beginning to affect his senses. Might be time to put Brother down?
Hi Chucky! Thanks for stepping by! Oh.. I don't think he minds a vegetarian restaurant actually.. It was just that we didn't know it was vegetarian, so it was a bit of a surprise to see sprouts in the Nasi Lemak! :P
