Fish and Chips

I love Fish and Chips - especially if the fish is fresh, the batter thick and crispy. I don't particularly like your typical thick-cut fries that comes with Fish and Chips, but the restaurant will score well if they serve Fish and Chips with mashed green peas and homemade tartar sauce - like this pub at Canary Wharf.

I was so glad to have Fish and Chips in the home of Fish and Chips - United Kingdom. (Hm... some would argue it is Australia actually.. )


What's your favourite place for Fish and Chips? The one I like in Singapore is at the Serangoon Gardens market - no mashed green peas and fancy fries, but the fish is usually very good.

  1. Favourite fish-and-chips : New Zealand. And most F&C shop on the street will serve better F&C than any I'd tasted before round the world.

    Or maybe cos I haven't tasted Canary's :p

  2. After I have taken those F&C sold at small shops in UK, I never seems to find a good one here in PJ or KL. I love their simple vinegar to go with the fish :-D

  3. F&C with mashed peas...hmmm.. I just stared and stared at the green mash when I got mine. I thought it weird. But they were good!

  5. I agree with you Steph! I think the one at Canary Wharf is just above average to my English colleagues. But it was really good to me!

  7. never been to UK and only Perth b4, i'd say the ones in s'pore are never the chip off (even) the Perth's block. hehehehe.....
